Day 6*

Niagara Falls!

We woke up to a rainy day in Niagara Falls, NY but that didn't stop us. APM, Rocky and I walked over to the falls from our hotel, and took a stroll around Goat Island. This is quite embarrassing to admit, but I thought Niagara Falls consisted of just one big waterfall. But come to find out, there are two! The American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls.

After a tourist filled day, we hit the road again. This time to Chicago to visit my great friends Denise and Chris. This drive also consisted of a terrible snow storm that had zero visibility, but APM pulled us through and we made it safely to Chicago.

Niagara Falls or Bust!

We had an entire day of driving. 12 hours to be exact. We broke it up with a stop at Wegmans. Quite possibly the best grocery store I've seen. I always held Publix in that spot, but Wegmans seemed to amaze.

Sushi lunch in their veranda. We just missed the live music that was setting up. Really? It's all at your local grocery store.

Day 2- February 20th

Relax

We had such a relaxing day. We didn’t do much except hang out with adorable babies and take a trip to the Goodwill. And finished off the day with a mini marathon of Weeds 6. Who knew a road trip could be so fun.

Day 3 - February 21st

Baby day

Today was fun filled with the addition of two addorable twin girls. Ashley’s little nieces came over and we had quite a day. 

Chocolate chip cookies were made, we watched them bake up, and Rocky wished he had one.

Then we had a grown up dinner where everyone above the age of 3 was allowed to come to Pura Vida in downtown Belfast.

Day 1*February 19th

Hit the Road

We hit the road today. And what a pretty day it is, 50 degrees and sunny. Not a bad New England February day. We left with really no plan at all, except to make it to Maine. But of course we had to make the celebratory stops along the way.

Something you really never, ever want to see. Cop lights in your rearview. Pulled over for the first time in Massachusetts, and first ticket in five years. great start.

My first property defacement since 5th grade. This road trip has already turned me into a rebel. And all at a New Hampshire discount liquor store. Doesn’t get more bad a$$ than that.

We made it to Maine! We got to stay with our favorite Mainers Adam, Ash, Q, and Maggs in their beautiful house. Not a bad place to call home for a few days. And with a home cooked meal of beer can chicken on the way, I might never leave. 

Road Trip 2012

APM and I finally started our road trip! We’ve been talking about it for months, planned it, unplanned it, re planned it and finally we are on the road. The idea of just jumping in the car and driving across the country is almost part of the American Dream, but since we are (sorta) adults and have a 100 lb dog in tow, it took a little planning. But here we are, doing it! There is so much to see of our own country we can’t wait to explore.
